Top 5 kid friendly atv rides

Looking for a great place to have fun and let your kids ride their ATVs? Here are our top 5 kid friendly atv rides that we have experienced.

1. Tug Hill, NY

We loved staying at Flat Rock Inn in the Tug Hill region of Upstate NY. It’s definately one of our favorites.

With its beautiful view of a small pond, it also offers a great Inn with friendly gold retrievers roaming around a small restaurant with great food and direct trail access. The campsites are spacious and offer electric and water hook ups and a dump station. Visit www.flatrockinn.com for more details.

Flat Rock is known for their ATV and snowmobile trails. There are nice, flat trails to ride on for kids. It can be quite crowded during the peak season of May – August, so be sure to stay together and follow all the safety rules. Be sure to check the states website www.dmv.ny.gov for updates on ages allowed to ride solo. And of course, always wear a helmet.

2. Potter County Family Campound, Coudersport, PA

This is a family owned campground which has 105 campsites and cabins. It has direct access to the ATV trail system through the beautiful Susquehannock State Forest that lead to Lyman Run Reservoir. Www.pottercountycamping.com

Easy trail riding through the forest for all ages. Kids under 10 cannot ride alone.

Check out Lyman Run Reservoir in the State Park while you’re there! Great place to have the kids swim, fish and paddle boat. Treat them to snack and ice cream in their cute store.

3. Orwell, NY Oswego County Trail System

There are over 100 miles of family oriented trails in Oswego County NY. There are mud holes, woods, fields, bridges and railroad beds along the way.

These trails will lead you to many stores, gas stations and restaurants in the area. The Altmar Hotel is our favorite spot for great food including gluten free options!

We stayed at our property in Orwell. We have two dedicated campsites that can accommodate big campers, boats and vehicles. Great access to the ATV trails, snowmobile trails, Salmon River Falls, and minutes away from world class salmon / steelhead fishing! Check us out on Airbnb.

4. Kawartha Lakes, Ontario Canada

If you want to ride internationally, check out Kawartha Lakes in Ontario Cananda. Simply amazing views through the endless forests, lakes and woods. Many trails for beginners to advanced drivers. The town of Fenelon allows ATV use on designated streets. Check out www.Katva.ca for more info.

We camped at Log Chateau Park in Fenelon Falls, ON. They have direct access to the Kawartha Lakes atv trails. They have many seasonal sites and 40 overnight campsites with full amenities. Www.logchateaupark.net

5. Moab, Utah

Wow! What an amazing adventure we had in Moab, Utah!! Wow Wow Wow! This place must be on your bucket list!

We visited Arches National Park, but it was so crowded that we couldn’t get in until the evening. So we rented a 6 seat UTV from www.moabtourcompany.com

We rode the petrified sand dunes of Hell’s Revenge trail. We had lots of screams and laughs on this adventure and would recommend it for all ages!

We camped at the KOA in Moab Utah and it was super close to the National Park, restaurants and entertainment.

We hoped we gave you some new insight on where to take your kids for amazing experiences as a family. We are grateful and blessed to be able to give our children such great adventures.
